Lovingkindness Meditation For Peace

This event is open to the Denison community, and takes place in the Spiritual Life Center.

The Buddha said "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love. This is the universal rule." So if we want to make a more peaceful world, we have to cultivate love, and that begins with ourselves.

Research has linked lovingkindness meditation, also known as compassion meditation or metta, with many positive outcomes, including increased positive emotions and a greater sense of overall well-being. Practitioners often report feeling more joy, gratitude, and increased empathy towards others. We'll learn and practice this meditation together, dedicating our efforts to peace among all people.
